Insurance Commonly Asked Questions.

Vehicle Insurance: Top 4 Tips
  1. Purchase more than just the basics. The state of Washington requires minimum liability coverage of $25,000/$50,000 bodily injury and $10,000 property. These minimum limits may not provide you with adequate liability coverage in the event of an accident, so you could potentially end up with much more out-of-pocket costs.

  2. Understand that the insurance company will base their premium on a set of risk factors that include your driving record, your age, where you live, how you will use your vehicle and credit history. The questions they ask may seem unrelated to driving; however, they do relate to the cost of your insurance.

  3. Review your policy when you purchase a new car or RV. Reread it at renewal time and make sure you have adequate coverage for the current value of your vehicle.

  4. Take still photos or a video of your vehicle. Date the images and store this pictorial proof of its condition in a secure location outside your home, such as a safe deposit box or a family member's residence.
